I've chosen to release this song from my upcoming album first because the main piano line, (which my bandmate Chris Kennedy came up with) and the song I wrote to it, really set the tone of the album. It also started my music collaboration between him and my dear, brilliant friend, producer Matt Robertson.

The album's theme is based on the centuries-old Japanese tradition of mending broken ceramics with gold: Kintsugi. Not only is there no attempt to hide the damage, but the repair is literally illuminated. The cracks aren't hidden and are instead used as part of the design.
